About Us

Brian Baker founded Birch Road Capital in 2026 to acquire outstanding Michigan-based businesses.  

Brian has been an investor for more than 15 years and started his career in equity research at a valuation-based investment firm. He has closely studied the lessons of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, attending both Berkshire Hathaway and Daily Journal annual meetings through the years. 

Brian has also worked as a journalist and writer, covering topics such as financial regulation, mergers and acquisitions, retirement and investing. He has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. He is a CFA Charterholder.
